1st speech : Arise all you Nigerian youths, wake up from your slumber.
Let’s Seize this moment, this opportunity, use it.do not let this energy we have put together in the name of the ongoing Nation wide protest to become negative energy and go to waste, let’s continue to put pressure on the government to end bad governance in Nigeria once and for all,our problems are beyond “end SARS”…
In this respect,we intend to reorganize the protest in a peaceful manner (Strictly peaceful)in order to redirect the positive energy towards achieving the desired objective the protest was meant to achieve.
We are not asking for enough,we should ask for more ,we can not use all this energy just to ask for something as little as end SARS.This alone can not solve the problems we are facing in the country.we need a permanent solution to all our problems which are as a result of bad governance.thanks to the end SARS movement, for it has awakened us from our slumber…
We are going to come out again, but in a peaceful and a more coordinated manner, this time we are going to have security personnel with us ,the have agreed to be with us during the protest .And this time ,we are going to ask for more, this time we shall ask the government to put an end to bad governance once and for all…
Now, the big question will be…
How do you end bad governance in Nigeria?????
This is where we call for a review of the 1999 Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria
At this junction, we shall be making the following demands from the Government which are:
1)Immunity for the office of the attorney general of the federation and that of the chief justice of the state.
1a) The appointment and the removal of the attorney general of the federation and the Chief Justice of the State should be done by the National judicial council ,and the State judicial council, not by the President or the State governor.
2)Immunity for the office of the National chairman of INEC,and that of State commission.
2a)The appointment and the removal of the National INEC chairman, and state Commissioner of INEC should be done by the National INEC commission. Not by the President nor the State governor.
3)Any form of embezzlement of public funds by anyone or a group of people should attract a Death penalty just as it is done in Japan and China.
Today right here and now,in the presence of everyone.with the support from our brothers and sisters within and outside the .today we have come out to say enough is a enough,we demand that our leaders should put an end to bad governance which is the root of all the Evil activities that are been perpetuated in the country, namely, corruption, inequality ,insecurities police brutality, and a host of others.
In view of the above, today we call for a constitutional amendment,a review of the1999 Constitution which will provide a permanent solution to all the problems we are going through in Nigeria…and Africa at large.
According to section(4)(5)and (6) on chapter(1)part (11) of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria states that, the function of the three arms of government ,i.e The executive,The Legislator and The Judiciary should be independent of each other in the performance of their duties without any form of control or interference from the other arms.in order to achieve a check and balance that will intern check the arbitration of power between this three arms of government .
1) Today we say free the judiciary from the influence and control of the executive, today we say grant the judiciary financial independence
Let the judiciary be free indeed, for is the judiciary that is the only hope of the common Man in a democratic regime.this is the watch dog in the country check the excesses of the executive and the legislature
This is the only way to ensure and safeguard the liberty of the citizens, when the judiciary is free, there is a strict adherance to the Law,which gives way for the reign of “the Rule of Law” which is the bedrock of democracy in all the developed countries of the world we are trying to emulate…
Today We call for constitutional amendment, today we call for a review of the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
2) Our second demand is that the president should be denied of the powers or function of appointing the attorney general of the federation, neither should he have a role to play in his removal or dismissal from office. This duties should be done by the National judicial council of Nigeria.
2a) And also, the state governors should be denied the powers to appoint the chief justice of the state.neither should they have a role to play in his removal or dismissal from office.this functions should be done by the state judicial council details will follow up at the negotiations table
3) We also demand that both the offices of the National and state INEC chairman be given emunity in order to ensure they are independence indeed, and free external influence as the name implies.
3a The appointment and the removal or dismissal of the National chairman of INEC,and the State chairman should be done by the National INEC commission in itself as a means to ensure and safeguard their independence (INEC) ….(which will put a stop to election malpractice for the benefit of the citizenry)
3b) May the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also have financial independence as another means to ensure and safeguard their independence, for effectiveness and efficiency.
4) Any form of embezzlement of public funds by any individual or a by a group of people should attract a Death penalty, either by hanging ,an electric chair,or a firing squad…
This is done in Japan ,China and other developed countries of the world…my brothers and sisters, when this Law is enacted,it will mark the beginning of the end of corruption in Nigeria.people will become afraid to die,so therefore, they will see no reason to embezzle public funds any more.because you be caught, tried ,and when found guilty, you will be executed…the funds will be reclaimed by the government.
This is one of the a…
Great Nigerian youths,*2
It is true that our leaders have failed us ,and have put us through a lot of difficulties and pains in our country, we are angry and disappointed in their leadership…we have kept quiet for too long, today we speak up, today we say enough is a enough…
My brothers and sisters, may we not because of any reason or influence begin to loose focus of why we are out here today stage a peaceful protest. the protest must be peaceful ,so that the violent will not divert anyone’s attention away from our agitation and the demands we are making in a bid to end bad governance in Nigeria once and for all…
My fellow Nigerian youths, for the sack of a brighter future, a better Nigeria. Let you all follow our example to reorganize and to conduct peaceful protests in your respective states throughout the Nation…if we reorganize the protest in this manner, the government will have no reason but to meet up with our demands, because we are the reason why they are there. They are there to serve us ,and at this moment, this is what we require of them …great Nigerian youths,we indulge you to join the movement ,together let’s make Nigeria great again for our children’s children’s children’s
Greatest Nigerian youths*3
Do I need to remind you that on the 1st of October 1960 Nigeria got her independence. Due to some immediate and remote courses, we adopted a federal structure of government which will allow us to a true practice of democracy just as the developed countries of the world.ie United States of America ,Noway Iceland and Sweden etc….
The best form of government is that which is democratic, Democracy originated from a Greek word “dēmokratiā” (from dēmos ‘people’ and kratos ‘rule’) is a form of government in which the people have the authority to choose their governing legislation. Who people are and how authority is shared among them are core issues for democratic theory, development and constitution. Cornerstones include freedom of assembly and speech, inclusiveness and equality, membership, consent, voting, right to life and minority rights.
Democracy as we all know allows the practice of the principal of separation of powers, as it was done in the early city States of Greece ,Rome and classic Athens. The principal of separation of powers gives room for a system of checks and balance between the three arms of government in order to safeguard the liberty of the citizenry.
The principle of separation of powers is ensured by the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. According to article 4,5 and 6.which state :The three arms of government, namely, the Executive, the Legislature an the Judiciary should be independent of each other, to prevent the influence or control from the executive arm.
That been said, I want to remind you that the freedom or the independent of the judiciary is the bedrock for the reign of the “RULE OF LAW”. which is the strict adherence to the rules and regulations of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.this makes the Law to be supreme…above everyone
Remember that the hearts of Men are Evil, and do not forget that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely….and I tell you my brothers and sisters,if a Human being is not put under control by rules ,Laws or regulations they misbehave…when people are not afraid of the punishment that comes when an offence is committed, the next situation you will have is a” lawless Society” it is sad to say ,but this is our situation in Nigeria.just because the Law is weak ,the laws of the federation need to be strong, strict and supreme .we shall make Nigeria great again.but the only way we are going to achieve this is by going back to the root cause.
let’s review the 1999 Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and make the amendments where it is necessary .let’s strengthen the “Law” It is only the Law that can checkmate the excesses of every offender regardless of status, position, class ,age, tribe or religion and those in power. They can not stops us now, we want to strengthen the Law, which will intern strengthen our institutions that have become weak.this is the only way we can return Nigeria back to her glorious days
6th Speech . .during the protest
Great Nigerian youths *2 To everyone who is listening to us by any means, within and outside the country. My brothers and sisters, I greet you all.
First and foremost, I want apologize to the various government authorities to all those who are being affected by the ongoing protest that has now become a violent one, and to our president in particular, we the youths are saying that we are sorry, we regret our gullible and violent activities during the protest that is supposed to be a peaceful one.
We apologize on behalf of our youth that are loosing Focus of the good intentions of behind our protest and are engaging in violent activities.
From now on, we promise to be of good conduct as we continue with our peaceful protest through out the Nation. we also promise to invite the Authorities to as our escort during the protest to ensure that everything is peaceful.
We Shall also have an understanding with the authorities, stating that at any point in time any youth or a group of youths who will choose to by any means engage themselves in violent during the protest should be apprehended by the police.
Nigeria is a state party to the 1966 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Article 21 governs the right of peaceful assembly, providing that:
The right of peaceful assembly shall be recognized. No restrictions may be placed on the exercise of this right other than those imposed in conformity with the law and which are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security or public safety, public order (ordre public), the protection of public health or morals or the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.
Nigeria is not a state party to the First Optional Protocol to the ICCPR, which allows individuals to petition the Human Rights Committee if they believe the state has violated their human rights as protected under the Covenant.
At regional level, Nigeria is a state party to the 1981 African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Article 11 provides as follows:
Every individual shall have the right to assemble freely with others. The exercise of this right shall be subject only to necessary restrictions provided for by law in particular those enacted in the interest of national security, the safety, health, ethics and rights and freedoms of others… In this regard, We shall continue to protest, but peaceful until the government agrees to meet our demands…
Great Nigerian youths, please look this scenario. why have we left it as a choice to our representatives in public offices to decide weather they will be good or bad leaders, weather to steal our money ,or to use the money for public project etc…this should no longer be a choice, let the laws of the State be binding on everyone to do the right thing..to control everyone to the right path
It should be a one way thing.let’s strengthen the Law,let’s call for a constitutional amendment ,let’s put pressure on the government through peaceful protest demanding that
1)Immunity should be granted to the office of the attorney general of the federation in a way to ensure that they are really independent and they are free from control and pressure from the executive so they can be effective with their functions
1a)The president should be denied the powers to appoint the attorney general of the federation,And should no longer have a role to play in his removal or dismissal from the office…this duties should be done by the National judicial council.this will grant true and actual independent of the judiciary…
1b)The State Governor should be denied of the powers to appoint the chief justice of the state ,And also should the Governor should no longer have a role to play in the removal or dismissal of the chief justice from the office…this duties should be done by the State judicial council.this will ensure true and actual independent of the judiciary…
1c)The should also be granted financial independence…They will be on automatic payment from the central Bank of Nigeria..
2)Any form of embezzlement of public funds by any individual or group people should attract a Death penalty either by hanging, firing squad or an electric chair…
We can not allow anyone to get into a public office and begin think if he should steall public funds for himself,or should he keep his promises to the people or not…The Law will be there to say what is expected of them as they are in those offices.
let’s stop them from stealing our money, and this can only be realize when we free the judiciary so that the law will now have the power to be our watch dog in order to sanction offenders
This is the only way to ensure that everyone will be of good conduct and behavior when elected into public offices.
Because the Law will be strong enough to punish offenders.no one is or will be above the law.let’s us now work towards strengthening the laws of the State(Nigeria)so that “the rule of law”will begin to reign, and we will begin to enjoy the dividends of Democracy…
Remember that even the Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9-10
That the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
We also know that Power tends to corrupt; and absolute power corrupts absolutely
An observation that a person’s sense of morality lessens as his or her power increases. The statement was made by Lord Acton, a British historian of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Great Nigerian youths*.
Do not worry about your safety, because this time it will be more peaceful for we shall have the authorities to be guarding activities in order to ensure peaceful conduct during the protest for all the days we are going to be out there.
This time around we won’t even match to anywhere. We will just converge at IBB square, at the Gate for a period of 6 hours .from 10am to 4pm .everyone will be handed their placards with writing on them.
Then we shall also bring a DJ that will be playing Music,All the anti government songs that you know,eg “lead us well” ” this government na Wao”Nigeria jagajaga and a host of others…
So after every 40 minutes the music stops.
A speaker gets to the stage and reads a speech that we have prepared for the moment with the massage or the demands we are making to the government in regards to the protest towards the achievement of our objectives…
The Music continues and stops again after another 40 minutes, the Second speaker will come out with the second speech or article that will explain why we are making such demands on the government.
The process will continue until we close the day after 6 hours…then come back the next day ,same venue same time same process with different articles or speeches…
We shall do this every day until our demands are met, This is the sacrifice we are willing to make in order to have a brighter future in Nigeria.
