The MTF Academy initiative will run for 12 months in Lagos, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Nairobi, Republic of Kenya; and Lusaka, Republic of Zambia, with a production break defined solely by MultiChoice.

Multichoice Talent Factory Film Academy 2022 | What to Expect

MultiChoice Africa’s Multichoice Talent Factory is a multi-tiered training and experiential learning program that takes place across Africa. It is intended to create a platform for the African creative industry to learn, develop talent, engage, and connect with one another through shared interests.

On the occasion of Africa Month in May 2022, we will open a call for applications for the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy class of 2023. We’re looking for ambitious African talent – like you – who want to obtain theoretical and practical experience in cinematography, film editing, audio production, and storytelling.

Sixty bright students from 13 African countries will have the opportunity to work alongside industry legends to polish their film and television production talents. MultiChoice Talent Factory academies in Kenya, Nigeria, and Zambia will assist this year-long, financed program. Students will generate high-quality local material that will be broadcast on our MultiChoice M-Net channels.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Multichoice Talent Factory Film Academy, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:

  • Applicants must have a qualification from a registered and/or recognized post-secondary education institution as set out in clause 4.3.5 below; and/or
  • Applicants have experience in the film industry.
  • Applicants who hold a qualification must be between 18-30 years of age; be citizens and residents of the countries from which they are selected by MultiChoice to participate in the MTF Academy initiative, namely Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe; be fluent in English in terms of speaking, reading and writing; demonstrate passion for the drama, film, television and entertainment industry during selection interviews; and have completed a relevant qualification from an accredited and/or recognized tertiary education institution in drama, film, television or a related media field, within the last 2 years. For the avoidance of doubt, the said qualification must be obtained only from a post-secondary education institution which has been accredited or recognized by a relevant registered institution.

With an enrolment of 1607 students, Canadian Mennonite Institution (CMU) is a private Mennonite university in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The university was established in 1999 with three campuses: Shaftesbury, Menno Simons College, and a campus at The University of Winnipeg.

Canadian Mennonite University was incorporated in 1999, through the amalgamation of Canadian Mennonite Bible College (established in 1947), Concord College (founded as Mennonite Brethren Bible College in 1944), and Menno Simons College (established in 1988). A fourth college, Steinbach Bible College, was also involved, but later withdrew.

The name, Canadian Mennonite University, was publicly announced in early 2000, and courses began in September of that year on a new campus comprised of the former Manitoba School for the Deaf and the campus of Canadian Mennonite Bible College on the south-west corner of Grant and Shaftesbury.

On Portage Avenue, Canadian Mennonite University erected a new Menno Simons College campus in 2009. A science laboratory was built in late 2010, and the Redekop School of Business opened in 2011.
