Now this isn’t to say that you can’t start a personal blog for your own enjoyment if you want, but if you do want to make money with your blog. Talking about your life and what you had for breakfast this morning, won’t bring traffic to your site, or put cash in your pocket.

The second blogging strategy practices, dying out is blogging about anything and everything. So people are not missing blogs for entertainment purposes, like they used to then, what are they visiting blogs for the answer is really simple, knowledge, people are looking to be educated on a specific topic, they are visiting blogs to help them solve problems and to educate themselves further. You really have to focus on a very defined niche to become a go to expert in that area. The idea that more blog posts, equal more success is just not relevant anymore. In the early years of blogging, there was a lot less competition so the more you posted the more traffic and visibility that you received, but this is no longer the case.

So today, creating high quality content on a consistent schedule is so much better than churning out more frequent content of lesser value. So, it’s typically better to focus on, let’s say two really in depth helpful blog posts a month than four or five unexceptional posts that provide really little long term value.
